A Friendly Reminder – Just 322 days until End of XP and Office 2003 Support!

Many customers are asking “What is this ‘end of support’ and why does this matter so much?” Below is a brief explanation to help you understand what end of support is and why you need to start planning now for your organization’s Windows 7 or Windows 8 upgrade.
Eleven years ago, Microsoft began a new program called Support Lifecycle Policy to provide better support for Microsoft products. It was developed from customer feedback and covers Windows and Office products. According to this program, the aforementioned products receive 10 years support (five years Mainstream Support and five years Extended Support), which means as of April 8, 2014, Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 will no longer be supported by Microsoft.
The bad news is if your organization has not started your migration to the newer products, you are behind schedule. From our experience, the average enterprise deployment can take 12 to 28 months from business case development through full deployment.
The good news is if you act now,  HTG can get you back on track from initial discovery and application testing through procurement, configuration, warehousing, deployment, installation and on-going support. Call us now to ensure you deploy before end of support.
