Education IT Services for K-12 Schools and Districts
HTG supports users, devices, Microsoft 365, campus networks, cybersecurity, rollout work and the vendors tied to each issue. Bring us the campuses, current support gaps and dates that cannot move. We help define what HTG should own, what stays with internal IT and what needs to happen before work begins.
Where School IT Breaks
Small Problems Reach the Classroom Fast. The Cause Often Sits Across Several Systems.
A failed login can involve identity, licensing, device policy, MFA or the application itself. A Wi-Fi issue may cross switching, access points, cabling, the carrier and the device. HTG follows that path instead of handing the user back to another provider.
Daily Tickets Consume Internal IT
Password resets, Microsoft 365 access, shared devices, printers and recurring endpoint problems can take over the day. The project list and security work do not disappear while the team handles another classroom interruption.
Academic Dates Do Not Leave Room for Rework
Testing periods, summer refreshes, staff return dates and school openings require equipment, access, vendors and field work to be ready in the right order. A missed dependency can cost the only workable change window.
Every Provider Owns One Piece
The carrier says the circuit is active. The software vendor blames the network. The device provider points to configuration. HTG traces the issue across those handoffs and keeps the next action assigned.
What HTG Can Own
A School Needs More Than a Help Desk. HTG Can Carry the Work Into the Campus.
HTG can handle daily support, a selected technical function or a defined project that has to move from planning through staging, onsite work, documentation and handoff.
Managed IT & Help Desk
Give staff one place to start when logins fail, devices stop working, printers go offline or a business application becomes unavailable. HTG can own the ticket and bring in the vendor or onsite technician as needed.
Microsoft 365, Accounts & Access
Support user accounts, licensing, MFA, email, files, onboarding, offboarding and approved administrative work. Access authority and student-data decisions remain with the school or district.
Cybersecurity & Recovery
Manage the security controls included in scope, such as endpoint protection, identity controls, patching, monitoring, email security, backup planning and documented incident escalation.
Wi-Fi, Switching & Connectivity
Assess and troubleshoot wireless coverage, switching, firewalls, circuits and secure access. HTG can coordinate the carrier, cabling vendor and onsite work when the issue crosses providers.
Devices, Staging & Rollouts
Receive equipment, apply approved configurations, label and kit devices, capture serial numbers, ship by campus or classroom and coordinate installation around school access and academic dates.
Procurement, Inventory & ITAD
Source approved equipment, manage receiving and inventory records, plan refreshes and document recovery, reuse, data destruction or retirement when devices leave service.
From Support Request to Handoff
Clear Ownership Before the School Day Gets Disrupted.
A workable support model separates what HTG can own, what requires coordination with another provider and what the school or district must approve. That keeps tickets and projects from stalling between teams.
- HTG Can Own Agreed support queues, infrastructure, security functions, Microsoft 365 administration, project tasks, onsite work and technical escalation included in the scope.
- HTG Can Coordinate Carriers, hardware vendors, software providers, cabling teams, field resources and internal IT when the same incident or project crosses company boundaries.
- The School or District Confirms Policy, student-data authority, application ownership, access approval, procurement rules, screening requirements, academic dates and duties that require school authorization.
Where HTG Fits Best
Bring HTG In When Internal IT Is Carrying More Work Than the Team Can Close.
The right answer is not always full outsourcing. HTG can run the service desk, take responsibility for selected systems or campuses, provide managed security or complete a defined deployment, network or lifecycle project.
- Internal IT needs help desk coverage, campus support or a reliable escalation path.
- Several schools need the same equipment, documentation and rollout method.
- A summer refresh or campus project requires staging, shipment and field coordination.
- Carriers and vendors keep passing the same incident back and forth.
Questions to Settle Early
Clear Responsibilities. Fewer Surprises During the School Year.
The service list is only the start. These are the questions that determine whether HTG should provide recurring support, additional capacity for internal IT or a defined project.
What education IT services does HTG provide?
HTG can provide managed IT and help desk support, Microsoft 365 administration, cybersecurity, campus network and Wi-Fi work, endpoint and printer support, field services, device deployment, procurement, staging and IT lifecycle services. The agreement states what HTG owns and where the school, district or another provider remains responsible.
Can HTG work alongside an internal school or district IT team?
Yes. HTG can run the service desk, cover selected campuses, manage agreed infrastructure or security functions, provide project resources or handle onsite work. Internal IT can retain architecture, policy, application ownership and duties that require school authorization.
Can HTG support device refreshes and classroom rollouts?
Yes. The project can include procurement, receiving, staging, approved configuration, labeling, kitting, shipment, onsite installation, inventory updates, retired-equipment handling and closeout documentation. The exact tasks depend on the device standard and school requirements.
What cybersecurity work can HTG handle for schools?
Depending on scope, HTG can support endpoint protection, identity controls, Microsoft 365 security, monitoring, patching, backup and recovery planning, security reviews and remediation work. Access, student-data responsibility, incident authority and vendor obligations must be defined before service begins.
How is education IT support or project pricing determined?
Pricing depends on users, devices, campuses, coverage hours, response expectations, onsite requirements, security tools, travel, staging, freight and the responsibility HTG accepts. Managed service pricing and project pricing are built differently, so the first review establishes the right model before a proposal is prepared.
Can HTG participate in public-school or E-Rate-funded work?
HTG can support technical planning, bills of material, implementation and documentation when those services are part of the approved scope. The school, its advisor and procurement team remain responsible for current eligibility, bidding, contract and funding requirements.
