Plant and Warehouse IT Support

The floor doesn't wait for a ticket queue.

Plant and warehouse issues often cross devices, networks and vendors, so a scanner, label printer or access point can interrupt receiving, picking, shipping or production reporting when nobody owns the next step.

Coverage drops between aisles

For example, scanners can lose connectivity between racks, aisles or dock areas. HTG can assess coverage, troubleshoot roaming and connectivity issues, and coordinate the fix when the network is the cause.

Shared devices

Shared stations fall outside the normal device routine

Because shared workstations move between shifts, they can miss the same patching, access and support routines used for assigned laptops. HTG therefore puts them into a defined support path.

Vendors

Too many parties on one issue

The carrier points at the firewall, while the equipment vendor points at the network. HTG then documents what was tested, keeps the escalation moving and keeps the next action assigned.

What HTG Supports

Manufacturing IT services: one support path for the business IT around production.

With managed IT services for manufacturing, HTG takes ongoing responsibility for agreed parts of your IT across the plant, the warehouse and the office. The scope is written down before it starts, and it runs on the same managed IT services model HTG uses elsewhere.

Users and access

  • Help desk for plant, warehouse and office users
  • Microsoft 365, identity and licensing
  • ERP, MES and WMS account access

Devices and networks

  • Laptops, workstations and shared stations
  • Barcode scanners and label printers
  • Warehouse Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN and failover

Manufacturing cybersecurity services and vendors

  • Endpoint protection, patching and monitoring
  • Carrier, hardware and software escalation
  • Procurement, staging, deployment and ITAD

Manufacturing cybersecurity services included in managed IT are also defined in the agreement. However, broader risk, compliance and threat-monitoring needs are handled through HTG's cybersecurity services.

Fully Managed, Co-Managed or Project

Manufacturing IT services for the day-to-day, or for a defined gap.

Fully managed IT services for manufacturing mean HTG owns the agreed day-to-day business IT scope for your sites. Co-managed means HTG owns a defined part while your team keeps the rest. Project-based work, on the other hand, has a defined start, finish and acceptance criteria.

Both managed models therefore hand HTG ownership of something. If you would rather keep ownership and just add people to your own team, staff augmentation is the other option.

Fully managed

HTG runs the agreed manufacturing IT services

  • Help desk and escalation ownership across shifts
  • Users, devices, Microsoft 365, networks and vendors
  • Monitoring, patching, documentation and reporting
Co-managed

Your team keeps control

  • Ticket overflow and contracted after-hours cover
  • Warehouse network, endpoints or vendor management
  • Onsite hands your team cannot send

Assessment and Onboarding

Start with the plant you already run.

Above all, day one is about understanding the environment, not replacing everything.

01

Review

First of all, review the plant and warehouse environment, repeat issues, network, devices and vendors.

02

Document

Then capture users, devices, shared stations, scanners, printers and access.

03

Set ownership

After that, agree in writing what HTG owns and what stays with operations.

04

Stabilize

Finally, close the gaps found and watch the first weeks of ticket patterns.

When Remote Is Not Enough

Some manufacturing IT services happen on the floor, not on a call.

When remote support cannot finish the job, HTG coordinates the right onsite resource based on the site, the issue and the agreed scope.

Manufacturing Cybersecurity Services and Operational Technology

HTG can own business IT. Machine control stays separate.

Production environments depend on both business IT and operational technology. For manufacturing cybersecurity services, HTG therefore defines the boundary before work starts, so support, escalation and change responsibility stay clear.

HTG can own or support

  • Users, endpoints and shared workstations
  • Microsoft 365, identity and access
  • Warehouse Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN and carriers
  • Barcode scanners, label printers and endpoint security
  • Onsite IT support and vendor coordination

Requires separate scope and qualified specialists

  • PLC programming and machine controls
  • SCADA configuration
  • Safety systems
  • Specialized OT security engineering

Likewise, HTG does not own your ERP, MES, WMS or machine-control software. Instead, we support access to those systems and the IT they run on, and we coordinate with the vendors who own them.

Nationwide Manufacturing IT Support

Manufacturing IT services for one plant or coordinated across many.

Either way, HTG supports manufacturing, warehouse and distribution environments across the U.S. Work can also include managed IT services for manufacturing, co-managed IT support, multi-site projects, equipment deployment, field services, lifecycle work and coordinated onsite support.

For organizations with multiple locations, HTG can also use the same documented process for staging, shipping, technician coordination, installation, testing and closeout across sites. Hardware can also be received, staged, kitted and shipped from HTG’s 65,000 sq. ft. Ridgefield facility.

Manufacturing IT Services FAQ

Manufacturing IT services questions worth settling before you choose.

What do manufacturing IT services cover?

For HTG it is the business IT around production: help desk for plant, warehouse and office users, devices and shared stations, Microsoft 365 and identity, warehouse Wi-Fi and connectivity, endpoint security, and onsite support.

Does HTG support barcode scanners and label printers?

Yes, when they are in the agreed scope. In that case, it covers network connectivity, drivers, firmware, replacement units and vendor escalation for the scanners and label printers your warehouse runs on.

Can HTG work on our PLCs, SCADA or machine controls?

That is operational technology and needs separate scope and qualified resources. HTG instead supports the business IT those systems depend on and coordinates with the vendor who owns the controls.

Does HTG manage ERP, MES or WMS?

Not directly. Instead, HTG supports user access, identity, endpoints and the network those systems run on. The applications themselves, however, stay with the vendor or your internal team unless something different is scoped in writing.

Can HTG support multiple plants, warehouses or distribution centers?

Yes. HTG can coordinate manufacturing IT support, deployment and field work across multiple U.S. locations using a consistent scope, documentation process and escalation path. Site access, scheduling, technician availability and local requirements are confirmed before work begins.

Can HTG support after-hours or 24/7 manufacturing environments?

After-hours and 24/7 options are available within managed IT services for manufacturing when included in the service agreement. Support hours, escalation expectations and what qualifies for after-hours response are defined in scope so the plant, warehouse and HTG know what is covered.

Start With One Site

Tell us what keeps slowing the plant or warehouse.

In other words, tell us which site, which systems and where coverage runs out. HTG will then review it and come back with what we would own.
